CUE FILE   [right click, then 'save target as']

To burn a CD with track indexing: It's actually very easy. To start you must have the cue file downloaded and placed in the same folder as the mp3 file. You probably already have this since all MP3 downloads come in a zip folder including the .cue file so it shouldn't be a problem. Just extract the folder contents and it's ready to go. You must NOT change the file name of the mp3 if you are trying to burn with track indexing or it won't work, because the mp3 has to have the same file name as how it is listed in the .cue file. If you've already altered the file name of the mp3 just copy and paste the original file name (located in the top of the cue file, open it with notepad to view) back to the mp3. If there are any problems just open the cue file in Notepad to make sure the listed file name matches the exact name of the mp3.

Step 1: Open Nero or which ever burning program you use and do NOT let it start a new burn wizard or spread.. instead close the new spread (cancel) and go to the top of the screen and select 'file' then 'open' from the drop down menu.

NOTE: If you're using Nero Express, all you need to do is choose the option "Disc Image or Saved Project". Make sure to read the rest of these instructions though. Whatever you do, DON'T start off by selecting to make an audio/music disc! You are burning a DISC IMAGE. If you're using Nero StartSmart then you want to go to: 'Copy & Backup' --> 'Burn Image to Disc'

Step 2: A window will now pop up for you to find and select the .cue file wherever it's saved on your computer.

*After selecting the cue file the program may appear to freeze for a few minutes while it loads the cue sheet indexes but this is perfectly normal. It can take 3 or 4 mins, or it can take 15 minutes depending on your computer. What Nero is doing is stripping the mp3 into separate tracks peparing itself to burn the cd.

Step 3:  The next window to come up now is basically what you see below. The indexes should be loaded and ready to burn so just make sure you have a blank cd ready in the drive and start the burn. Sit back, relax, mix a drink or just pace around a bit and before you know it your new cd will be ready to go. If you receive any noise complaints afterwards it's the first sign that you're enjoying the disc the way it was intended.
